The Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) does not send Indonesian migrant workers to the country where online gambling is based (Judol). The countries where online gambling is based are blacklisted as conflict countries for BP2MI.
Cambodia is one of the countries that is the headquarters of online gambling in Southeast Asia. BP2MI confirmed that there were no PMI shipments to Cambodia. The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) blocked all internet networks connected to Cambodia as the judol headquarters.
ADBMI hopes that the public will not immediately accept the invitation to leave illegally. Because, many workers who were sent to Cambodia illegally became judol admins and also scammers.
adbmi.org - The Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) issued a statement not to send Indonesian migrant workers to countries where online gambling is based. Benny Rhamdani as head of BP2MI categorizes the country where Judol is headquartered as a conflict country.
BP2MI has a complete policy not to send workers to conflict countries.
The country of Cambodia is also on the black list where PMI cannot be sent. Because Cambodia is one of the largest judol headquarters in Southeast Asia.
Apart from that, BP2MI has a policy of not sending migrant workers to countries that do not have laws protecting migrant workers.
Reporting from BP2MI data, around 158 thousand Indonesian migrant workers will be sent until mid-2024.
Meanwhile, the ADBMI Foundation urges the public not to leave unprocedurally. Because there is not strong protection for workers who come illegally.
"We do not recommend that people leave unprocedurally. How difficult it is to become a PMI, don't do it illegally," explained Roma Hidayat, 7/8/2024.
Apart from that, Roma also asked the public to be smart in looking for valid information.
"Come to the village, to the labor office or you can search through the ready-to-work application," concluded Roma.
